North Myrtle Beach - Located 16 miles north of Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach has great beaches and many excellent restaurants. There are far fewer people here, but you still get all the great attractions you would if stayed downtown. North Myrtle Beach has water parks, mini golf, amusement parks, and year round events.

Murrells Inlet – This fishing village lies just 13 miles south of Myrtle Beach. Murrells Inlet is one of the best places in all of South Carolina for seafood. You can pick some up at one of its fresh markets or dine at one of their more than 30 restaurants. If fishing is an activity you enjoy, charter boats are available for rent everyday. Brookgreen Gardens is also located in Murrells Inlet. Enjoy thousands of magnolias and azaleas as you make your way through the largest outdoor sculpture garden in the world, or go to Huntington Beach State Park and see the local wildlife. Golfing, parasailing, and kayaking are also popular activities in the inlet.

Pawley's Island – If you continue down US 17 past Murrells Inlet you will soon arrive in the Town of Pawley's Island. It is one of the oldest summer resorts on the East Coast. Visitors here expect a very laid back experience. Bare feet and hammocks are the norm, and many historical residences, dating from the late 18th to the mid 19th century, still remain today. Residents will proudly share the town motto, which is "Arrogantly Shabby".

Georgetown – Further south of Pawley's Island lays the City of Georgetown. Filled with a rich history, Georgetown was one of the first English Settlements of the new world. Today Georgetown's historic architecture and feel still remain. It is the perfect place for a getaway with no distractions.

The Myrtle Beach area has a lot more than golf and salt water taffy. Come experience the lesser known Myrtle Beach area. You can have a great vacation on a road less traveled.
